Degenerative Disorders of the Musculoskeletal System are chronic disorders and are the most commonly treated ailments in our Health Spa. Various types of arthritis – especially knee and hip joint arthritis – are the best-known and the most frequent types of this disorder.
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disorder caused by joint wear which leads to thinning of cartilages and creation of bone spurs; these lead to pain (startup pains in the beginning, more serious later on) and limited mobility.
These disorders usually affect small joints of the hands (thus causing problems with writing, carrying things, etc.) and feet, weight-carrying joints - hip and knee joints (thus causing pains, swellings, and difficulties while walking). Clinically, these disorders manifest themselves through morning stiffness and “startup” problems (stiffness following prolonged sitting periods, etc.); later on, symptoms include pain, limited mobility in the affected joint, and weakening of surrounding musculature.
